The collection brings together four historically significant Steinways from the early 20th century — spanning the dawn of recorded music, ragtime, the Jazz Age, and Steinway’s Golden Era — alongside a beautifully rebuilt Baldwin equipped with modern PianoDisc technology. Together, these five instruments are more than pianos: they are playable pieces of American musical history, restored and prepared for their next chapter. Steinway & Sons Model B (1904) — The Dawn of Recorded Music

6'11" grand from Steinway's Golden Era — powerful, orchestral tone with long sustain. Ideal for the serious pianist and collector who wants a pre-war American Steinway with genuine historical presence.

This 125 year-old, ebony-finish gem was delivered to its owner in the same year that Enrico Caruso releases his music to the United States market. The previous owner, a respected Newport, Connecticut- based academic, enjoyed his Steinway & Sons Model B for many years It is inspiring to find such an instrument, built the same year that the gramophone industry launched (1904), in such mint condition. This 6’11” rebuilt piano has all-new action parts, and has been completely rebuilt.

5'10½" grand built as America entered WWI — warm, singing tone, remarkably versatile. A rare Model O from the ragtime-to-jazz transition, meticulously prepared.

Steinway & Sons Model M (1926) — The Jazz Age

5'7" medium grand from the height of the Jazz Age — clear, balanced voice that fits beautifully in a living room or studio. A 1926 M with elegant scale design.

100-year-old, 5’7” Steinway Model M in very good condition still maintains all its original parts, has all-new action, and new dampers. Mahogany finish was completed in 2025 with French polish. Structure intact, almost perfect. Golden Era craftsmanship (built in 1926), and universally prized by collectors looking for items that pre-date The Depression.

This particular model was manufactured in both Hamburg, Germany and New York City, USA. Designed by Henrik Ziegler, it is a playable artifact and part of jazz-age history.

This 5’2” Baldwin Model M is a very good-condition, ebony-finish piano, completely rebuilt five years ago and retaining its original ivory keys (as evidenced by the standard crack lines visible in some of the close-ups).

Uniquely, this 1940 piano includes a fully installed and functioning PianoDisc system that gives it a modern second life: select from a library of roughly 3,000 recordings and control playback from a cell phone, with the piano performing alongside background orchestral music. Includes AirPort Express and associate software, along with instructions. An especially compelling centerpiece for a Michelin-rated restaurant or refined hospitality setting where atmosphere and live-piano presence matter.

Steinway & Sons Model O (1902) — Turn of the 20th Century

5'10½" grand from the very start of the century — one of Steinway's earliest O models, with a warm, historic voice that connects directly to the dawn of recorded music era.

Scott Joplin published “The Entertainer,” helping bring ragtime into mainstream culture, the same year this prize was rolling out of the assembly bloc. Built in New York City, this 5’11.5” mahogany Steinway & Sons Model O has been completely rebuilt in 2023, over 120 years later.

Coming from the same year Enrico Caruso’s recordings began reaching mass audiences in the United States, this 1902 piano remains in very good condition with its original finish and original ivory keys, complemented by French polish, a new soundboard, and all-new action. A playable artifact from the dawn of recorded music and American popular culture.
